  • Temporary Road Closure at Joe W. Brown Park

    Temporarily CLOSED

    Please be advised that due to necessary bridge repairs, a portion of the roadway at Joe W. Brown Park will be temporarily closed. This closure allows for the safe passage of two-way traffic around the construction area & ensures the safety of park visitors and crews. The repairs are expected to take some time, and we will provide regular updates as the project progresses.

Who Should Apply?

Community and non-profit organizations interested in partnering with NORD to provide free, high-quality, inclusive, and impactful programs and services for youth, teens, adults, and seniors are encouraged to apply for the 2026-2027 School-Year Programmatic Partnership.  Through this opportunity, selected organizations will receive access to space inside recreation centers at no cost, along with promotional and marketing support from NORD in exchange for hosting community programs and events open to the public at NORD recreation centers and playgrounds.

What types of programs are eligible?

  • · Arts and cultural enrichment
  • · Academic support and tutoring
  • · Health and wellness programs
  • · Workforce development and career readiness
  • · Technology and digital literacy
  • · Senior (55+) engagement programs
  • · Special interest workshops and community education

 

Where are applications accepted?

The online application will be open from June 1, 2026, to July 17, 2026.  Organizations interested in partnering with the Recreation Department are encouraged to attend one of the technical assistance workshops offered to learn more about the online application process and the partnership contract process. 

  • June 1st: Application Released Online
  • June 16th: Technical Assistance Workshop, 5pm - 6pm at TREME REC CENTER
  • July 6th: Technical Assistance Workshop, 10am – 11am (Online)
  • July 17th: Application Deadline – 5pm

What are the partnership benefits to the organization?

Selected partners may receive:

  • Use of the designated recreation center space at no cost
  • Opportunities to serve residents in neighborhood facilities
  • Marketing and promotional support through the Recreation Department communication channels
  • Collaboration opportunities with Recreation Department staff and community stakeholders

What is expected of programmatic partners?

Organizations selected for partnership will be expected to:

  • Enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the City of New Orleans and NORD
  • Provide inclusive programs to participants either at no cost or not to exceed $10 per participant per session
  • All staffing, supplies, equipment, and materials needed for the program are provided by the partner
  • Partners must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and insurance coverage
  • Programs should be conducted in a safe, professional, and inclusive manner
  • Compliance with all Recreation Department policies and procedures is required

When will I be notified if my organization is selected to become a partner?

All applicants will be notified via email on July 31, 2026, if they have been approved for partnership with NORD for programming for the 2026-2027 school year.  Partners will enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement (CEA), and programming will be allowed between September 14, 2026, and May 14, 2027.
