Rent a NORD Facility
Interested in renting a NORD facility for your upcoming special event? The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission has facilities to suit any occasion – from family reunions, community meetings, and wedding receptions. In addition, facility rental income directly benefits improvement efforts at all NORD recreational centers and parks.
Current NORD spaces available for rent include:
- Picnic shelters in Joe W. Brown Memorial Park
- Greenspace and/or playgrounds at various parks/playgrounds around the city
- Multi-purpose rooms for groups ranging in size from 10 – 100 attendees
- Multipurpose athletic fields

Follow these easy steps to rent a NORD facility
All rental requests must be submitted at least 15 business days before the event date. Any requests under 15 business days will NOT be accepted or processed.
- Download the NORD Facility Rental/Permit Application and COVID Release Waiver.
- Complete and sign the application and waiver, and return to the NORD Rental Division in one of the following ways:

- Deliver in person to: NORD Rental Office, 5420 Franklin Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122, Monday – Friday between 9am- 4pm
3. The Rentals Division will be in contact via email within two business days to confirm receipt of documentation for review. Rentals staff will follow-up with availability, price quote, and any other requirement needed for permitting.
4. NORD Rentals will send a confirmation email which outlines due dates of security deposit, rental fee payments, and other provisions.
All reservations must be paid in full, along with proof of security officer payment, at least 7 days before the event date.
Once confirmed, any requested changes to the application must be received in writing and approved by the NORD at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled event.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to rent a NORD facility?
Once the NORD Rental Division receives your application, an appropriate rental fee will be given to you along with any other permitting requirements, such as security or insurance. Note that NORD facilities are rented per hour and must include all set up time, event time and breakdown time.
What happens if there is inclement weather?
In the case of inclement weather, if you decide to cancel before the event, NORD will allow the applicant to reschedule their rental pending facility availability. Once the facility / venue is occupied, no refunds will be given for cancellation.
What forms of payment does NORD accept?
NORD accepts business checks, certified cashier’s checks and money orders as forms of payment. NO CASH, personal checks or credit cards are accepted.
Will NORD provide tables and chairs for my event?
NORD does not provide tables and chairs for outdoor events. Events in a NORD Recreation Center may have access to tables and chairs based on availability. It is the responsibility of the applicant to set up and break down tables and chairs for their event.
What types of activities are allowed when renting NORD facilities?
- Use of a non-water inflatable/spacewalk
- Grilling on -self-provided grills
What types of activities are NOT allowed when renting NORD facilities?
- The sale of food, beverages, goods or merchandise without written approval from NORD and may require additional permits. The NORD Booster Clubs reserve the right to exclusive use of all NORD concession areas.
- Erecting stages, tents and/or booths without written approval from NORD and may require additional permits.

For events that require tents and staging, all necessary permits from ONESTOP must be obtained and presented to the NORD Rental Office before NORD will approve use. The rentals office will work with you on which additional permits will be needed based on your event elements.
