Creative Programs for All Ages

NORD offers free and low cost arts programs that encourage creativity, build new skills, and give residents of all ages a place to express themselves. Whether you are picking up a paintbrush for the first time or exploring a new medium, our arts classes are welcoming, hands on, and designed for every skill level.

Registration is required for all arts programs. Space is limited and granted on a first come first served basis. A waiting list is available and participants will be contacted as space opens.

Painting and Drawing

Tap into your creativity with our Painting and Drawing class, led by NORD Visual Arts Instructor Keith Duncan. Learn fundamental techniques, experiment with different mediums, and create original artwork in a supportive and fun environment. Beginners are encouraged and welcomed.

Supplies:

  • Colored pencils
  • Markers
  • Watercolor sets
  • Assorted paint brushes
  • Three 16x20 canvases
  • Drawing and watercolor pad (11x14)

Ceramics

Explore the basics of ceramics through hand building and introductory wheel throwing. Participants will learn how to shape, mold, and glaze their own clay pieces while gaining confidence with each project. This is a great class for anyone who wants to try something new and work with their hands.

Painting and Design

Build your skills in sketching, drawing, and painting using a variety of materials. This class introduces participants to foundational art concepts while giving them space to practice, experiment, and develop their own style.
