Temporary Road Closure at Joe W. Brown Park

Temporarily CLOSED

Please be advised that due to necessary bridge repairs, a portion of the roadway at Joe W. Brown Park will be temporarily closed. This closure allows for the safe passage of two-way traffic around the construction area & ensures the safety of park visitors and crews. The repairs are expected to take some time, and we will provide regular updates as the project progresses.

Safe, Supportive and Engaging Spaces for Youth

NORD partners with trusted organizations to offer after-school programs that give youth a safe, healthy and enriching environment. Programs focus on structured learning, social development and activities that support academic and personal growth.

Girl Scouts

A nationally recognized leadership program for girls that builds courage, confidence and character. Open to girls in grades K through 12. Five-year-olds must be enrolled in kindergarten.

Kids Café

An after-school meal program for youth ages 18 and under available at all rec centers. In partnership with Share Our Strength, No Kid Hungry New Orleans. Meals are distributed Monday through Friday, from 3-6 PM at listed rec centers except Cut-Off, Joe W. Brown, Milne, and Stallings St. Claude Recreation Centers to youth ages 18 and under during the school year only.

Kid Café is part of NORD Commission's broader mission to provide accessible recreational and cultural opportunities, while addressing critical needs in the community.
