Parks are where children play, families gather, neighbors connect, and memories are made.
NORD’s Adopt a Park program gives businesses, churches, schools, neighborhood associations, nonprofits, civic groups, and other organizations an opportunity to volunteer their time and resources to help care for a neighborhood park.
When you adopt a park, you become a community partner in keeping that space clean, welcoming, and well cared for. It is a simple way to give back, bring people together, and build pride in your community.
What Can You Do?
Adopt a Park is flexible, and groups can participate in ways that fit their interests and capacity.
• Organize park cleanups and litter pickups
• Help with approved beautification projects
• Volunteer for approved painting or small improvement projects
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to NORD
• Support NORD and community events such as Movies in the Park and NORD on the Go
• Bring neighbors together through volunteer service and community engagement
NORD will work with each partner to identify opportunities, coordinate activities, and provide guidance along the way.

A Few Things to Know
- Adopting a park does not mean owning the park or having exclusive use of the space.
- NORD parks are public spaces and remain available for everyone to enjoy.
- Adopt a Park partners must coordinate activities and projects with NORD in advance. This includes events, programs, improvements, landscaping, and other work in the park.
The goal is to build community pride and shared responsibility while keeping our parks welcoming and accessible to everyone.
