Daddy Daughter Spring Dance

Create memories your daughter will never forget at our Daddy Daughter Spring Dance. You and your little princess will enjoy a photo booth, raffles, dancing, food, and more! No cost. Open to girls ages 18 and under.  Registration required.

Kite Day

Bring your friends and family to our Annual Kite Day!  Prizes for fastest kites, best decorated, and more!  Bounce Houses, snacks, crafts, and music.  No admission cost and open to all.

Family-friendly Easter egg hunts at select NORD parks. Meet the Easter Bunny, and find eggs filled with candy and prizes. Event also features face painting, space walks and field games.

Superhero Family Fun Walk

The Station at Lafitte Greenway
500 N. Norman C. Francis Pkwy.

Join the FitNOLA Superhero Run! This 1-mile walk/run is for youth of all abilities between the ages of 4- 18. Come dressed as your favorite superhero and be ready to have fun while getting out and moving! This event is focused on healthy living and getting up and moving! FREE! 

 

KRAZY HAT & SOCK HOP DANCE

Youth will enjoy a fun filled evening with dancin, photo both, and competitions for the kraziest looking hats and socks. Door prizes!

Join NORD's Executive Team for a hour of community engagement, Q&A and general NORD updates in your neighborhood. 

Movies in the Park

Looking for a great Friday night event - that's free? The NORD Movies in the Park program will show a great family friendly outdoor movie every Friday night from March 10 - May 19th at NORD playgrounds. What a great way to start the weekend with family, friends, and neighbors!

NORD partners with playground booster clubs and community organizations to promote the events. This season, each film screening will have an alternate indoor location in case of inclement weather.

The movies will begin at dusk, as the sun descends beneath the horizon, and weather permitting. The screenings are free and open to the public. Moviegoers are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, weapons, smoking, or cooking will be allowed during the event.

Family Fit Fest:  Play. Bike. Fly. Explore.

There's plenty to do and experience at our Spring Family Fun Fest including with a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Prepare healthy snacks. Participate in interactive, fun play. Explore nature with an engaging nature walk. Support a local non-profit organization by making a donation and enjoy a scenic round trip bike ride from Milne Rec Center to Lake Pontchartrain. Bring or make a kite to participate in the Kite Flying Contests. Come and enjoy food, music, and entertainment.  

National Park and Recreation Month

Every July NORD celebrates Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) that highlights and all the ways parks and recreation has the power to transform our daily lives. From providing places to get fit and stay healthy to fostering new relationships and forging a connection with nature, a close-to-home community park and recreation facilities provide essential services and improve quality of life.

Hispanic Heritage Celebration

A celebration held during National Hispanic Heritage Month which recognizes Hispanic heritage through a community festival featuring music, food, and art.

Halloween Spooktacular

We host an annual Halloween Spooktacular event at multiple NORD locations across the City to provide our youth a safe and fun environment to celebrate Halloween.  Each event is family-freindly and features carnival games, bounce houses, costume contests, prizes or raffles, and of course, track or treating for candy!  This event is FREE and open to all.   Attendees are encourage to bring a trick or treat bag for goodies.
