
NORD Partnership Opportunities
The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission partners with organizations throughout the year on programming like summer camp, athletics, fitness, dance, theater, events, and more. To learn more about the different partnerships, please see below.
SUMMER CAMP
The Summer Camp Partnership application provides organizations the option to operate a traditional or specialty summer youth or teen career camp, or function as a service provider for other NORD summer camps. Specialty youth or teen career camps are expected to utilize a curriculum predominately focused on a specified discipline such as early learning (4-6 years old), theater, dance, tennis, basketball, or other interest area. Applicants interested in providing an inclusive summer camp experience for youth and teens with special needs are encouraged to apply.
The following information outlines the requirements for the three (3) different summer camp partnership types.
Youth Camp requirements
- Provide summer camp services to youth ages 4-12 years old; and
- In some cases, organizations may have a specialty camp that offers a curriculum with a specific discipline such as a theatre, dance, tennis, early learning (4-6 year olds), etc.
Teen Career Camp requirements
- Provide career camp services to teens ages 13-15 years old; and
- Incorporate a career day, college day, weekly guest speakers from the workforce, and a resume writing workshop.
Service provider requirements
- Provide a cultural, academic, or recreational enrichment service to NORD youth and/or teen camps such as financial literacy, life skills, academic games, physical/mental health, spoken word, play therapy, karate, STEM, visual and performing arts.
Attendance at the following technical assistance workshops is MANDATORY for all applicants seeking a 2023 - 2024 programmatic partnership school year with NORD:
The deadline for application submission is Friday, June 2, 2023 by 5:00pm. Completed applications for consideration may be submitted as follows:

MOVIES IN THE PARK
The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission partners with community organizations to host Movies in the Park events for the spring and fall seasons. The Movies in the Park program is a free family-friendly movies shown on Friday nights at locations throughout the City. Booster Clubs, non-profit organizations, schools, and other community organizations may apply to host a Movies in the Park event. NORD staff will work with the host organization to select a family-friendly movie. These events are a fun and engaging way to get families and people of all ages to come out and spend the evening with the community.
What types of Organizations may apply?
Booster Clubs, non-profit organizations, schools, and other community organizations may apply to host a Movie in the Park event. Individuals may not apply. Please understand that an application does not guarantee you will be selected to host a MITP this season. All applications are considered on a first come, first served basis with consideration to equal distribution of events throughout all city districts. All applicants must host the MITP at a designated NORD park. All Booster Clubs seeking to host MITP must be active and current on all compliance-related requirements as of the date of application.
What types of Organizations may apply?
Booster clubs, non-profit organizations, schools, and community organizations may apply to host a Movie in the Park event.
Individuals may not apply. Please understand that an application does not guarantee you will be selected to host a MITP this
season. All applicants must host the MITP at an approved and designated NORD site (see page 5). All applicants are
required to partner with the parks active Booster Club and with at least two other organizations.
