Something Wonderful About an Athletic Girl
SWAAG is an initiative designed to increase girls' participation in sports. SWAAG is an initiative to celebrate our young female athletes, preparing them with life-skills, as they grow toward healthy and active futures. SWAAG is an array of life skills, critical thinking skills and the quest of quality in performance necessary for success in sport and in life. SWAAG is an alternative to the stereotypes about female athletes and “girl” athletics. SWAAG is not just an attitude--it’s a way of life.
SWAAG DAY is a combination of interactive sports/games, physical fitness activities and overall health and wellness. SWAAG DAY will engage young girls and women who are interested in participating in the sports of volleyball, basketball, softball and dance. The day will consist of health screenings (blood pressure, eye exams, height, weight, and nutritional information), Mom & Me Boot Camps, as well as trainings in volleyball, basketball, softball and dance.
The SWAAG Dance Academy focuses on provide training in all the various dance art forms, to develop exceptional dance skills with an emphasis on terminology, and encourage
individual artistic expression
The SWAAG Track Academy is designed to provide development opportunities for Track and Field and Cross Country athletes at all levels of the sport.
