Movies in the Park: Spring 2017

NEW ORLEANS, LA — This weekend the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) will kick off the spring 2017 season of Movies in the Park, featuring family-friendly, outdoor movie screenings at NORDC parks and playgrounds across the City.  The spring 2017 season kicks off on Friday, March 3 with “The Wiz” at Hardin Playground, 2500 New Orleans St.  Movies begin at sundown.  This season, each film screening will have an alternate, indoor location in case of inclement weather.

Movies in the Park is a great, safe, fun event that brings community members together from all ages for a free event.  It’s also a great way to meet neighbors and relax outdoors during the spring months.  Moviegoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics.

Before each screening, Fit NOLA Parks program instructors lead fun fitness activities.  Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive early to participate and visit with neighbors, family, and friends.  For more information on Fit NOLA Parks program, please visit http://nordc.org/activities/fitness/.

Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, weapons, smoking, or cooking will be allowed during the event.
