Family Game Nights

NORD and the Autism Society of Greater New Orleans present an evening full of fun activities for the whole family. Family Game Night provides an opportunity for all children, including those with special needs, to have fun, in a safe and accepting environment.  Register to attend the next family game night.

Monthly Game Night

An exclusive evening of family fun featuring traditional board games along with interactive and physical games.  Enjoy educational activities, 3-point shooting contest, extreme tic-tac-toe, relays, puzzles, card games, and more.

Glam U

Girls mentoring program focusing on confidence building. Runaway classes, fashion, makeup lessons, photo shoots, and more. $10/week or $30/month fee required. Tuition assistance is available based on income guidelines.


Chess tutorials to help you learn the game of chess. Also, brush up on your chess skills or challenge other players in a game of chess during our open play hours. Registration is free and ongoing for ages 8 and up.

Heart to Heart

Girls mentoring program that will teach, empower, and inspire young ladies to make positive choices, and provide a safe and open platform for discussions. Girls, ages 6-12. Cost: $35.

Little Learners

A family literacy and technology program that includes traditional and technology based resources to support literacy, numeracy, and social skills development among preschoolers and equips families to support the learning and exploration of preschoolers. Youth, ages 2–4.

Pre-Teen Essentials

Pre-Teen Essentials provides a positive space for girls to learn about important topics like self-esteem, confidence, and health & wellness. Girls, ages 10–13.

Small Bites

Have fun with food in the Common Threads' Small Bites program and learn how to make healthy snacks through a series of eight, 1-hour lessons. Each food lesson has a healthy theme that is connected to science, language arts, and math concepts so the learning never stops! Youth, ages 6–12.

Sow & Grow

Young people learn about science, planning, creativity and discovery by creating through an edible garden. Youth, ages 6–12.

STEM NOLA Saturdays

The program exposes, inspires and engages members in the surrounding communities about the opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
through activities, programs, and events. Registration required. Youth, ages 5-18.

Youth Explorers

Partnering with area schools, churches and neighborhood groups, Explorers use nature as a classroom and a playground to connect youth to the outdoors and the greenway.
Youth must be accompanied by an adult. Youth, ages 6-12. Email to schedule a group of eight (8) or more to explore the greenway.

Youth Fit Fest

The annual Youth Fitness Festival celebrates physical, mental, and social wellness. The event features fun fitness activities, interactive learning stations, health and
dental screenings, healthy snack tastings, and more. 

Touch a Truck

First responders use specialized vehicles. Students participating in this program will have the opportunity to explore the vehicles and meet the men and women who keep us safe.
