Community Advisory Team
The Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office & NORDC Invite Residents to Join NORDC Community Advisory Teams
The New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) is actively seeking residents to join the NORDC Neighborhood Participation Process (NPP). The NORDC NPP creates 15 location-based Community Advisory Teams (CAT), three per a council district. CATs are the foundational structure for community participation at the neighborhood level with NORDC.
CAT membership is open to any New Orleans resident eight (8) years old or older interested in recreation. Membership is a twelve (12) month commitment with an opportunity for residents to work with NORDC staff, neighbors and commissioners on recommended recreation improvements that will ensure the communities concerns are a top priority.
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.

The Mayor's Neighborhood Engagement Office was asked in 2011 to develop a Neighborhood Participation Process (NPP) for the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC). After more than 15 months researching, discussing and vetting with NORDC staff, commissioners and the general community, the NORDC NPP was approved during NORDC’s January 2013 public meeting.
