NORD Kicks Off 2018 Spring Programming

January 22, 2018

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission announces its programming and registration for spring 2018. Programming runs January 3 through May 19. This spring, NORD will introduce new programming including martial arts and NORD’s first urban camping experience, equipped with an outdoor fire pit, at Joe W. Brown Park.

NORD also announces new events including a Daddy Daughter Spring Fling, and Climbing Day with LOOP NOLA and the return of popular events including Family Game Nights, and the City’s only teen Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball. On March 9, the spring 2018 Movies in the Park series will begin, featuring family-friendly outdoor movie screenings at NORD playgrounds for residents across the City. Spring programming also includes indoor aquatics, fitness classes, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball, piano, visual arts, choir, and dance.

Residents interested in registering for spring classes are invited to visit the recreation center where classes will be held or their local playground. For class descriptions, locations, dates and times, please visit www.nordc.org.
